Please join us for an intriguing afternoon of conversation and reflection on India and Pakistan’s changing relationship and the implications for a peaceful tomorrow.

Our panel comprises:

distinguished former Ambassador John W. McDonald who will discuss his most recent peacebuilding project, Kartarpur Marg: A Punjab-Punjab Peace Corridor encompassing religious and spiritual diplomacy across the India-Pakistan border.

Mr. Trividesh S. Maini, a scholar on India and Pakistan Affairs from New Delhi will discuss his latest book titled, Warriors after War: Indian and Pakistani Retired Military Leaders Reflect on Relations between the Two Countries, Past, Present and Future.

Ambassador John W. McDonald, Chairman & CEO for the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy, is a lawyer, diplomat, former international civil servant, development expert and peacebuilder, concerned about world social, economic and ethnic problems. Ambassador McDonald holds both a B.A. and a J.D. degree from the University of Illinois, and graduated from the National War College in 1967. He spent twenty years of his diplomatic career in Western Europe and the Middle East and worked for sixteen years on United Nations economic and social affairs.  He has written and co-edited ten books and numerous articles on negotiation and conflict resolution, the most recent being The Shifting Grounds of Conflict and Peacebuilding: Stories and Lessons

Tridivesh Singh Maini is currently working as an Associate Fellow with The Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi. He graduated from the University of Sheffield in Great Britain in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics (Honours). He then received an M.A. in International Development from The School of International Service, Washington D.C. in 2004. Maini has authored 'South Asian Cooperation and the Role of the Punjabs', and co-authored 'Humanity Amidst Insanity: Hope During and After the Indo-Pak Partition' with Tahir Malik and Ali Farooq Malik. He is also one of the editors of "Warriors after War: Indian and Pakistani Retired Military Leaders Reflect on Relations Between the Two countries, Past Present and Future," published by Peter Lang (2011). This book is a collection of interviews with retired army officials from India and Pakistan. Maini regularly contributes opinion pieces to The Financial world, (New Delhi) The Diplomat, and Pakistani newspapers such as The Daily Times and Friday Times.
