The Conference is proposed to be hosted at George Mason University in October 24-25th, 2015. As an aspiration for democratic transformation, this conference shall be a continuation of Iowa Forum for Peace and Democracy (IFPD) efforts to unite Sudanese people in their struggle for peace and democratic transformation.
The Conference Format Towards Unified Strategy for peace and Democratic Transformation in the Sudan Five panels have been planned to cover the main theme of the conference:
- Identifying the main issues that lead to a minimum understanding among Sudanese political parties, fronts, and alliances concerning democratic transformation.
- Enhancing the roles of civil rights movement in democratic transformation.
- Identifying a road map for a national constitutional conference.
- Identifying a road map to build a democratic society after demolishing the prevailing totalitarian regime.
- Identifying a role for truth and reconciliation commission.
- Inclusion of Sudanese efforts in Diaspora in the political and democratic transformation of the Sudan. More emphasis should be directed towards identifying their role and diversification of the support they provide to the Sudan.
