The topic of gun violence has risen to the top of our nation's policy agenda. With the mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary, the Aurora movie theater, Virginia Tech, and others dominating headlines in recent years, the discussion about guns and gun violence is not going away. Our panel will explore this topic from various lenses. Is the enforcement of more stringent gun control regulations the answer? Or does the discussion of gun violence lie in our culture and socioeconomic systems, not in the availability of firearms? What role does the topic of mental health play in the conversation? What politics are in play in this national debate? And what will it take to find common ground on this fiery topic?
