Biography

Claudine Kuradusenge is a PhD candidate at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, studying Trauma as a form of identity formation, competing narratives, and Diasporic consciousness. Her upbringing, being a Rwandan genocide survivor, has led her to believe that non-violence activism and political participation are important ways to reconstruct the self and the other. Her academic research has focused on both the social activism of diaspora communities, particularly the Rwandan Hutu Disporic communities, and the concept of Black consciousness in the US and Brazil. Her professional career has led her to work with refugee resettlements agencies and three NGOs based in the DVM and Belgium, Pan-Africanist organizations, trauma healing initiatives, traumatized youth, international students, and Conflict Resolution institutions.
