Dual Master's Degrees in Conflict Resolution and Mediterranean Security
 
Located on the beautiful island of Malta in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, this dual degree offers students the opportunity to examine a wide variety of international conflicts in regions that include North Africa, the Middle East, and Central and East Europe.  The entire program is held at the 400-year old University of Malta Valleta campus which incorporates old world architecture and charm with state-of-the art instructional technology.
 
Academic Degrees
 
Students who successfully complete the 13 month, full-time academic program are conferred with two degrees from the following Universities:

Orientation in Malta begins at the end of September.  Courses and thesis work take place for 13 months beginning in October and going through November of the following year. 

2017 Admission Information: U.S. and Canada Students
 
  • U.S. and Canadian students have the same requirements as the regular MS program and must apply online through George Mason University by the August 31st, 2017 deadline. Please ensure all application requirements are submitted before the deadline.
  • United States and Canadian applicants must have a bachelor degree from an accredited University. 
  • Canadian Applicants must submit International Transcripts/Credentials/Evaluations
2017 Admissions Information: International Students (Malta, Other Regions)
  • International student applicants from Malta, Europe and other regions must have an undergraduate honors degree (second class) or better from a recognized institution in a relevant area of study.
  • International students require the following: TOEFL (650 paper, 280 computer based, 114 internet) or IELTS (5.5). U.S., Canadian, and international students who have graduated from a U.S. Canadian, or Commonwealth University do not require the above exams..
  • International applicants should apply through the University of Malta.  
  • The University of Malta reviews applications and sends out the admissions decisions

Academic Program

The program combines the faculties of two renowned educational institutions: George Mason University School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, the oldest and largest program of graduate conflict studies in the United States, and the University of Malta's Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies, which has been offering advanced degrees in diplomacy and building bridges between Europe, North Africa and the Middle East for the past twenty-five years.
