The purpose of the article is briefly to review classic and contemporary contributions to the study of intergroup bias, stereotype and prejudice in the field of peace and conflict studies. Socio-biology, evolutionary psychology and social cognition theories about intergroup bias, stereotype, and prejudice are reviewed and their relationship with each other is examined. It will also use the concepts of inclusive fitness, social cognition, balance theory, and illusionary correlation. The conclusion offers more integrative approach and the resolution of intergroup bias, stereotyping and prejudice.
