Conflict Resolution Educators Converge on Mason for Annual Conference
Ph.D., Conflict Analysis and Resolution (2013), George Mason University
M.S., Conflict Analysis and Resolution (2005), George Mason University
The annual International Conference on Conflict Resolution Education takes place for the second year in a row at George Mason University. The conference, the largest in the conflict resolution and analysis field, is hosted by Mason’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and sponsored by the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict.
The conference is one of the few opportunities those in the expanding conflict education field have to increase their knowledge and skills, become familiar with current global educational initiatives and share information.
“It is the only conference of its kind and allows developing programs to learn from those that are already established in this rapidly growing field,” said Julie Shedd, associate dean and a professor at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution.
The conference theme this year is “Human Rights and Conflict Resolution: Tensions and Opportunities” and is expected to draw hundreds of conflict educators, students and practitioners to Mason’s Arlington Campus. The event begins with pre-conference workshops June 17-18 and continues June 19-20. The week wraps up with program development sessions for colleges and universities on June 21-22.
