Dr. Sandole describes his conceptual design of New European Peace and Security System (NEPSS), a basis for the intervention of the European Union in Bosnia into the latent and manifest conflicts of post-Cold War Europe in a way that could prevent "Future Yugoslavias.”

The study developed by the 8th Workshop of the Study Group “Regional Stability in South East Europe” deals with the various aspects of the international (post-)conflict management in Southeast Europe. It includes the results of a workshop held by the working group Regional Stability in Southeast Europe of the PfP Consortium in Reichenau, Austria held 7-10 May 2004, focusing primarily on the transfer of the NATO stabilization force in the Balkans to the EU.
