In light of the approaching anniversary of General Stanley McChrystal’s assuming command of the U.S. and allied forces in Afghanistan, and Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s visit to the United States, come discuss regional issues with representatives of the United States Government and experts from the George Mason faculty.

* Professor Jack A. Goldstone, Virginia E. and John T. Hazel, Jr. Professor; Director, Center for Global Policy. * Dr. Agnieszka Paczynska, Associate Professor of Conflict Resolution, Institute of Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Dr. Paczynska will also be moderating.
This is an invitation-only roundtable event with the intent of engaging in interactive discussion with the U.S. Government and academic experts on what is currently occurring in the region as well as where the region is headed. After initial remarks by the panelists, the moderator will encourage a thorough examination of the issues. While fully-open discussion is encouraged, this event is off the record so please respect that all forms of recording devices are prohibited.
