Mission, Vision & About CMA

Mission
The mission of the Conflict Analysis & Resolution and Mediterranean Security Studies Alumni Association (CMA) is to foster alumni community, support and achievement within its members. The Conflict Analysis & Resolution and Mediterranean Security Studies Alumni Association (CMA) aims to keep the alumni informed and engaged in future endeavors and communications to keep the International Master’s program experience at heart and to further its progress and success. Moreover, the organization sets out to be a global forum and channel to connect with its alumni members, making it a world-class alumni association.

Vision
The vision of the Conflict Analysis & Resolution and Mediterranean Security Studies Alumni (CMA) is to continue to promote, strengthen and sustain the bonds made as a graduate student with fellow classmates, colleagues and the University of Malta’s Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies and George Mason University’s School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution.

About
The concept of this unique and special dual International Master’s Program was conceived from a pre-existing professorial relationship between both George Mason University (GMU) and the University of Malta (UoM). Dr. Richard Rubenstein of GMU helped spearhead the start of this program and help it succeed during its founding year in 2010-2011. Drs. Stephen Calleya and Omar Grech of UoM have been invaluable in their coordination with both respective Universities before and during the onset of this Master’s program. The initial year consisted of 11 individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The subsequent potential cohorts have great interest and the CMA looks forward to expanding and welcoming its future alumni.
