The study was awarded a research grant from the Nuclear Threat Initiative, Washington D.C. and the Regional Center for Strategic Studies, Colombo. It examines the potential for economic cooperation between India and Pakistan, and its impact on improving peace and stability in the region. Building on the thesis that trade is a precursor to peace, I argue that increased socio-economic activity between nuclear archrivals India and Pakistan, would not only be beneficial for the respective economic development of both states, but it could also lead to improved relations and greater peace building.
