Realizing Peace: A Constructive Conflict Approach
Please see below for the video of the event
Louis Kriesberg will examine the importance of and the difficulty in ascertaining and actually applying a constructive conflict approach to American engagements in foreign conflicts. Peaceful transformations have at times occurred and demonstrate that alternatives to destructive strategies exist. Generating better alternatives should be based on contextual realities as well as the ideas of the fields of conflict resolution and peace studies. Kriesberg undertakes these endeavors, culminating his research and experience in the fields of peace studies and conflict resolution. His newly published Oxford University Press book, Realizing Peace, applies this approach to American foreign engagements since the onset of the Cold War.
