Innocent B. Rugaragu is from Kigali, Rwanda, but was born and raised in Tanzania. He holds a B.A. Honor in philosophy and humanities, a B.A. in theology, a Licentiate / M.A. in theology and social ethics, and M.A. in justice and peace studies. Growing up as a refugee and then living in post-Genocide Rwanda influenced Rugaragu’s desire to love, study and teach peace. In the PhD program at S-CAR, George Mason University, his interest includes Conflict Prevention and Resolution, Mediation, Genocide Prevention and Leadership for Peace and Reconciliation. He is also a community organizer with PICO Rwanda, focusing on development. In addition to English, he speaks Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Kinyambo, Kiswahili and French. Rugaragu is firm spiritually and proud to be a teacher (Mwalimu in Kiswahili).
