Lisa McLean
Lisa McLean is a Ph.D. Candidate at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and is the Dean's Fellow for the Center for the Study of Gender and Conflict. Lisa received her Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Manitoba in 2013, focusing her thesis research on the challenges faced by newcomer women in Winnipeg, Manitoba as well as the ways that newcomer women engage in community-building to pursue positive social change. Prior to attending George Mason University, Lisa worked for the Canadian public service with the Refugee and Humanitarian Program in the department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Lisa's research interests include gender-based violence, migration, activism, and feminist theorizing of vulnerability, intersectionality, and reproductive justice.
