M.S., Conflict Analysis and Resolution, George Mason University
The main goal of the study is to define effective ways of transforming and reforming the Palestinian media outlets through foreign aid. Without a reliable assessment of the needs of various media organizations (public versus privately-owned, professionally-oriented versus politically-affiliated, competitive versus marginalized in the media market…etc), the outside funding often remains misguided and under-productive. The study probes into possible ways of streamlining the professional standards and deepening the journalistic norms of accuracy, balance, and impartiality in addition to increasing the conviction and commitments of working journalists to their code of ethics and interest of the audience.
