Ibrahim Sharqieh, on Al Jazeera English, examines the thinking of the inner circle surrounding the embattled Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and the importance of influence within the Gaddafi family, particularly his son Saif al-Islam. Sharqieh is deputy director of the Brookings Doha Center in Qatar. He is a specialist in international conflict resolution and holds a PhD from George Mason University's Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution.
